Official announcement from USA Wakeboard:

USA Wakeboard is heading into new waters for Collegiate Nationals this year. After an exciting 5 events around the country filled with all kinds of firsts – first Regional with over 100 riders and the first wake-to-wake 900, we have our final event set for May 24-26 over Memorial Day Weekend in Shreveport, Louisiana.

This new venue gives everyone involved an opportunity to venture towards the center of the country without running into finals, graduation ceremonies, and enjoy something never before seen in the likes of any collegiate wakeboard event. With the wakeboard event downtown on the river front boardwalk, spectators will be immersed in Louisiana culture with the city’s 30th annual Mudbug Madness, a celebration of Cajun culture, music, and food, all within walking distance of the event.

For those that don’t quite get their kicks on the town, then there are several other options ranging from restaurants, casinos, and shopping outlets.

The close knit downtown of Shreveport allows everything to be within walking distance of each other from the wakeboard event, the hotels, the restaurants, and the music fest are no more than a few blocks away at the furthest.

Chico State may be looking to pull in another national title, but pressure from runner-up Wisconsin, Virginia Tech, Central Washington, Louisiana-Monroe, and Florida will try to steal it for themselves.
